Educis Entrepreneurial Challenge.
The Educis Entrepreneurial Challenge, or EEC, is a simulated learning experience of for-profit and not-for-profit entrepreneurship.
What is the EEC?
The Educis Entrepreneurial Challenge is a simulation of entrepreneurship where students take on the roles of for-profit and not-for-profit entrepreneurs in order to ideate, design, and create an execution plan for a product or service that they can potentially take to market.
The Challenge requires no advance preparation from the participants and provides them with powerful tools to learn what goes into building a startup from scratch, while subtly inculcating in them the skills needed in entrepreneurs.
Did you know?
India has an entrepreneurs per capita rate of 11%, one of the 20 highest in the world.
There are no developed nations in the top 25 most entrepreneurial countries. In developing countries, people tend to see more opportunities to start a venture than in developed countries. This is because self-sufficiency and business ownership are often the only way to make money!
Why should we offer it as an activity?
Entrepreneur is French for ‘one who undertakes an activity in the hope of reaping a reward’. An ever-increasing number of students look towards entrepreneurship as a viable career option.
Educis prepares them for what is to come. In the last decade, a surprising 42% of startups failed because there was no market need. Around 29% failed because they ran out of cash, 23% did not have the right team to help them succeed, and 17% fail because they don’t have a strong enough business model (source).
With so much uncertainty, it becomes imperative to know and imbibe the best practices, skills and attitudes needed to become a successful entrepreneur. At the EEC, participants will learn how to collaborate with each other, compete through better execution of their products and services, communicate their ideas in speech and writing, all while getting mentored by real-world entrepreneurs.
